A Special Message from Sherman
2011 was a great year for me. When I left Elvis's Imperials, I had no plans or ideas on what I would be doing; I just knew I needed a new challenge.
Somehow it was intimated or suggested on the Elvis's Imperials website that I left because of illness.Thankfully this was not the case; I am alive and well enjoying life with my wife and becoming a greater part of the community here in Oklahoma City and staying busy. I currently work at a hospital transporting patients with cancer (as many of you know, I am a cancer survivor); I work for the Oklahoma City Thunder (I get to see all of their home games!); I sing approximately ten times a month at senior facilities, and I also do church concerts. I have a quarterly concert at Calvary Church of the Nazarene titled "Sherman Andrus Presents" where I introduce new artists and veterans to a diverse audience. Also, I will be featured in the Senior Follies June 8-10 in Oklahoma City. It is based on the Ziegfield Follies, with dancing and singing the classics. These shows will raise money for mobile meals (we paid for 57,000 hot meals last year) and motivate seniors to be more active.
I'd like to thank all of you, including the many Elvis fans I hear from, for all of your prayers and support. I'd also like to thank my family for their support during my 44 years of ministry. And a special "thank you" to those of you who prayed me through my "short cut" in February!
